Ljos describes whiteness which turns into important to our psychological survival because the world turns dark and blue. Our dwelling strives to seize mild as our ancestors did. The primary two bounces, ground and ceiling, heat the blue to pure white. All different parts preserve, replicate and diffuse the whiteness.
The oak, in our mythology, is Yggdrasil, a world tree. It expresses magnificence by means of energy and connects the sky to the terrestrial by way of its roots. We got down to create a spot which inhabits oak, preserved in materials and dwelling within the panorama. Three present oaks dictate its type and program. Most important dwelling areas level to the oak to the east. Elevated indoor/outside residing areas reside within the cover of these to the west. Inside, white oak replaces the sky and land, stretches past the attention, and guides the physique via area.
We stay in a transition between The Nice Plains to the west and the Nice Lakes to the east. This zone is dominated by the oak and aspen savannas amidst a mosaic of vegetation. Our explicit second on this zone is the St. Paul-Baldwin Plains and Moraines subsection. It’s the prairie forest border of the Midwest. Our response is just not restorative, however ecological consistency. Whereas formalized, all species and their proportions are traditionally correct to the land’s particular nature. Tall grass prairie, moss, blue stone, and fescues reside under groves of oak and aspen. Edges are clear, however irregular and buildings exist in, on, and apart the land.
